Greetings!! I've just returned from holidaying with my parents and subsequently attending a fantastic camp organized by TRAC (Trinity Annual Conference) which is the 18-up Camp.
Firstly, my parents and I travelled to Ampang to see my grandma. As is my wont, I slept all the way from Johor Bahru to Ampang :-P (seriously, staying awake for four hours straight in the same position is something that is extremely hard for me to do). Then, with grandma in tow we went up Cameron Highlands and checked into the Heritage Hotel @ Tanah Rata. To my utter surprise, the first night we stayed there, at about 11p.m., I heard “One Way” sung. As dad and I discovered later on our last evening there, two churches were having youth camps there and dad met his friend who comes to JB Wesley sometimes to preach. In Cameron Highlands, the first thing we ate was scones with butter, fresh cream and strawberry jam and had some Bharat Tea. To me, going to Cameron Highlands and not having tea with scones is a cardinal sin XD but that's just me. The other notable thing we did at Cameron Highlands was to celebrate mum and dad's wedding anniversary @ Ye Olde Smokehouse. I had Beef Wellington (absolutely divine), mum had a chicken dish, grandma had a mix roast and dad had steak. The weather was good, nice and cool like spring in Europe, but we saw a fair bit of people dressed like as if it were winter though.
Next we went to Ipoh and Taiping. Nothing really remarkable there, except for Ipoh, where we stayed in a really nice hotel, the Impiana Casuarina. There, I had bubur lambuk for the first time, and I fell in love with it after the first taste :-P. We went for dinner with Mr. Lau Hat Yee, who wrote really good PMR Science books which I used before and who's dad's good friend. We also visited two grand aunties, one each in Ipoh and Taiping. Then, we went back to Ampang.
Here concludes the first part of this article. Primarily because mum is shooing me away from the computer and into bed because it's quite late.
ps. The chee cheong fun in Ampang is absolutely delectable!
